FROM ACCOUNT TO MATCH
HOW ARENA66 WORKS
Arena66 connects verified players, teams, events and dedicated CS2 servers. This is the complete route from registration to published match statistics.
1. Create and verify your account
Register your display name, date of birth, location and bio, then confirm your email address. Connect Steam before joining teams or creating events.
SteamID64 ties server activity to the correct Arena66 player profile.
2. Choose how to play
Public Gather lets you queue alone or with a party of up to two. Stack / Fill keeps a larger party together and fills open slots. A Private Friend Gather uses a password or invitation link and lets friends choose Terrorist or Anti-Terrorist.
Everyone starts at 1000 Arena Rating. Public teams are drawn randomly while parties stay together; rating does not decide the team draw. After the match, rating rises or falls from the result and expected win probability. Private Friend Gathers use a personal server, self-selected teams and produce no rating change.
3. Arena66 prepares the server
A match uses the creator’s server, an organiser server or an available shared server. After registration, CONFIG ↓ downloads a ready Arena66Live.json containing the correct server ID and plugin key.
Before creating a Gather, Arena66 reads server capacity directly: 2v2 requires at least 4 player slots and 5v5 at least 10. This applies to both shared and private servers.
Deadlines prevent stalled Gathers
A full lobby has 1 minute to complete the ready check. Players who do not select READY are removed, their slots reopen and the Gather continues. Two missed ready checks in a row cause a 30-minute Gather timeout; a successful confirmation resets the streak.
Once the connection card is available, everyone has 5 minutes to connect. Only an expired connection deadline cancels the Gather, removes connected participants and releases the server. Cancelled Gathers do not appear in match history. No plugin update is needed.
4. Play while Arena66 records
Registered players open the Gather or match page and use CONNECT TO SERVER or copy the console command. Only participants, the organiser, server owner and administrators see the IP address, port and match password; RCON is never shown.
During play, round scores and supported events return to the platform. The match password is removed and the server name restored when the match ends. Final results, Gather history, Arena Rating and player statistics update automatically.
5. Have a conversation with the helper
The movable Arena66 helper remembers the topic and recent messages within the browser session. You can ask several natural follow-up questions without repeating the complete problem.
During technical troubleshooting it uses previous replies to distinguish RCON, plugin loading, server ID, keys and outbound HTTPS. The input is enabled after every answer, and a request taking more than 20 seconds ends so you can retry. The new conversation button clears the context.
6. Fair play and evidence-based decisions
Arena66 separates objective server events from reports requiring human review. A disconnect without reconnect may trigger automatic leaver cooldown, while griefing, throwing, harassment, smurfing and suspected cheating are decided by an administrator.
Reports from the same match are grouped with available teamkills, team damage, team flashes, AFK, disconnect and demo evidence. Report count never proves guilt. Players may appeal and every decision is audited.
8. Follow development
The Updates page shows new features, improvements and important changes with date and time, newest first. The complete card can be selected.
Every entry has a permanent detail page with its feature list, user impact and navigation between updates. Historical times are marked as approximate, while new releases receive an exact bilingual time.
Explore detailed guides
The guide hub collects dedicated pages for players, Wingman 2v2, 5v5, teams and organisers, together with technical guides to Gathers, tournaments, leagues, servers and statistics.
Every guide has a permanent Norwegian URL and a separate English URL. Open CS2 guides in the footer to select the relevant workflow.
Navigation on every screen size
On large screens, every primary link appears on one fixed row without horizontal scrolling. Hover and press effects provide blue feedback, while the current page remains permanently marked. Account tools appear in a separate panel over the banner.
On smaller screens, the menu button opens primary links, the profile, messages and role-based options such as organiser and administration.
Server approval before use
Arena66 receives the plugin’s ten-second contact and performs a complete server check every 30 seconds.
Everything is checked again before a Gather is created. Only a current CS2 server with working RCON and loaded Metamod, CounterStrikeSharp, MatchZy and Arena66 Live can be reserved.
From the match server card to live Wingman
When the server is ready, the complete console command has its own full-width line, with the IP address, port, match password and connection button arranged below it.
After the knife round, the winning team enters .stay or .switch. When MatchZy reports that Wingman is going live, Arena66 ends warmup automatically. If everyone leaves a live match, they have 30 seconds to reconnect before the Gather is cancelled and the server is released.
Team logos for registered teams
The team captain opens the team page and can upload or replace a PNG, JPG or WebP logo up to 4 MB.
The logo appears on the team page and directory, My page and the team listing on player profiles.
Correct live score
The live view for Gathers retains the stored round score supplied by MatchZy.
Older final events containing the 1–0 or 0–1 series score cannot overwrite the actual map result.
Discord bot for new Gathers
Anyone can open the Discord page and invite the Arena66 bot to a server they are allowed to manage. The bot creates an Arena66 category with Arena66-Status, Arena66-Serverpool and Arena66-Gather channels.
Status and server-pool information are updated by editing fixed messages. The Gather channel receives one new message for each public Gather or Stack / Fill, with a direct lobby link. Private friend Gathers are never published.
Discord terms and privacy
The Discord page links to dedicated permanent terms and a privacy policy for the Arena66 bot.
The terms cover installation, Administrator permission, acceptable use and removal. The privacy policy explains exactly which server, channel and message IDs are stored, what is published and how deletion can be requested.
Matching server status on the website and Discord
Discord uses the same complete server health evaluation as the website. AVAILABLE requires both the available state and a recent successful check of plugin contact, RCON, CS2 version and the complete plugin chain.
Reserved servers display BUSY. A server that is not occupied but lacks a successful check displays CHECK REQUIRED and is not counted as available.
Read-only Discord channels and live Gather posts
All three Arena66 channels are readable, but @everyone cannot send messages, create or write in threads, or add reactions.
A public Gather is posted once. Arena66 then edits the same message approximately every three seconds with registrations, ready players, map, lobby phase and match status.
Norwegian previews for shared links
Normal links provide a short Norwegian Open Graph and X/Twitter preview even when Discord or another preview service connects from outside Norway.
Selecting English automatically adds ?lang=en to normal page URLs in the browser. That URL produces an English preview. Dedicated /en/ guides remain English without the parameter.
Discord bot with automatic updates
The Arena66 bot displays status, server-pool availability and new Public Gathers in dedicated read-only channels.
The bot should display as ONLINE, edits existing posts and creates its channels shortly after invitation.
Twelve clear choices in the main navigation
On large screens, the twelve primary links are distributed across twelve equal-width columns. HOME and CONTACT US therefore have separate slots and cannot overlap.
On narrower screens, the fixed row changes to the mobile menu before the links run out of space.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions and answers
What must a player do manually?+
Verify the account and Steam identity, then join the relevant activity.
Must I enter ServerId and PluginKey manually?+
No. Register the server under My CS2 servers and select CONFIG ↓. Arena66 creates a complete Arena66Live.json with the unique values for that server.
Where do players find the server IP address and password?+
When the match is ready, registered players see a secure connection card on the Gather and match pages. It can open CS2 directly or copy a ready console command.
How long are the Gather deadlines?+
The ready check lasts 1 minute. Players who do not select READY are removed and may join again; two misses in a row cause a 30-minute Gather timeout. After server preparation, everyone has 5 minutes to connect before the Gather is cancelled.
Where do I find my leaderboard position?+
Open Arena Gather Rating while signed in. Arena66 selects the page containing your position and scrolls to the correct row.
How do achievements work?+
The player profile has 100 permanent achievements. Recorded match results and statistics update their progress automatically.
What happens with an outdated plugin?+
The server is blocked from new events until it reports the required version.
Can an 8-slot server be used for 5v5?+
No. Eight slots are enough for 2v2 Wingman, while 5v5 requires at least 10 player slots.
Are results entered manually?+
No. The normal flow receives live and final results from the server integration.
What if the Arena66 helper cannot find my answer?+
Use Contact us in the chat or open the contact form. The message is sent to the Arena66 administration.
Can I continue replying after the first chatbot question?+
Yes. The input is enabled after every answer and the topic remains in the browser session. You may reply briefly with an error code or the result of the check requested by the helper.
Can many reports cause an automatic ban?+
No. Report count only helps prioritise review. Subjective cases require an administrator decision based on evidence.
What happens if I reconnect after disconnecting?+
Returning within five minutes causes no leaver penalty. The disconnect and reconnect remain recorded as match data.
Can I appeal a penalty?+
Yes. Open Penalties and reports from My page. An administrator may uphold or remove it, and the decision is audited.
Where can I see what changed on Arena66?+
Open Updates in the main navigation. New features and important improvements are listed with date and time, newest first.
How do I open the details for an update?+
Select the update card or Read details. Every entry has a shareable page with its feature overview and user impact.
Where can I find every Arena66 guide?+
Open CS2 guides in the footer. The hub links to dedicated guidance for players, teams, 2v2, 5v5, organisers, servers and statistics.
Where can I find the administration panel?+
On large screens, select ADMIN in the account panel over the banner. On mobile, open the menu button and select ADMIN PANEL.
How can I see which primary page is open?+
The active link has a permanent blue background, glowing text and a clear blue line along its lower edge.
Why does “LIVE!” appear three times after .stay?+
MatchZy displays the same start marker three times in different colours. Arena66 simultaneously ends Wingman warmup automatically so the scored match starts.
Is the server released if everyone leaves the match?+
Yes. When an already-live Gather remains completely empty for 30 seconds, it is cancelled automatically, MatchZy ends, the password is removed and the server becomes available.
Who can replace a team logo?+
Only the team captain can upload or replace it from the team page.
Which permission does the Arena66 bot request?+
The invitation requests Administrator because the bot must create and maintain its own category, three channels and messages on the server.
Does the Discord bot read our messages?+
No. The Arena66 bot does not read private messages or store ordinary channel content. It only manages its own channels and messages together with the technical IDs required for the integration.
Can Discord display AVAILABLE while the website requires a check?+
No. Both now use the same health evaluation. The Discord message is edited automatically when the check state changes.
Does the bot publish a new message when a player registers?+
No. The original Gather message is edited, keeping one message per Public Gather or Stack / Fill in the channel.
What should I do if the Discord bot remains offline?+
Wait briefly and try again. Contact Arena66 if the bot remains offline.
Why do HOME and CONTACT US no longer overlap?+
The column count now matches the twelve primary links. Both links have their own navigation slot.
How do I share a link with an English preview?+
Switch the page to English and copy the URL containing ?lang=en, or share one of the dedicated English guide URLs under /en/.
